About
Meet Michaela Merrick, the ultimate food entrepreneur. After a decade of experience in the service industry, Michaela found herself laid off during the COVID pandemic. Instead of waiting for opportunities to come to her, she decided to create her own. In May 2020, she launched Pretty Little Tacos, a Creole-Mexican street taco concept, in Triton Yards, a southwest Atlanta food truck park. Taking on the challenges of opening at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, she immediately established a loyal following by focusing on creating high-quality dishes. Recognizing an untapped market in Atlanta for birria tacos, a decadent beef taco dipped in a flavorful broth, Michaela brought this unique concept to the city and quickly became the go-to destination for those seeking delicious dishes. Michaela is also the innovator behind the fusion birria scene, being the first to launch oxtail birria in 2020.

In 2021, she opened a stall in Politan Row, and within no time, became the top-selling vendor. Pretty Little Tacos is known for its birria, but also offers street taco favorites such as chicken, oxtail, shrimp, and steak options. Michaela provides vegan alternatives and dessert tacos, including peach cobbler and strawberry shortcake.

With her uncanny ability to spot trends and create unforgettable dining experiences, Michaela is now expanding Pretty Little Tacos into new neighborhoods throughout greater Atlanta, bringing her mouth-watering food to even more foodies. In February 2024, she opened the first brick-and-mortar location with a full bar at 45 Moreland Ave in the Reynoldstown neighborhood, further solidifying her impact on Atlanta's vibrant food scene.
